The Arboretum area is known for it's awesome shopping and dining. Arboretum is located in Northwest Austin at N. Capital of Texas Hwy. (360) and 183. The Arboretum isn't actually a neighborhood, but people would probably be more interested in looking for homes for sale in the Arboretum area in Austin than a specific community in northwest Austin. I decided because it is such a popular area that I would devote a page specifically the Arboretum area on the whole. 

The Arboretum is an outdoor mall area located and built around the large mature trees and hills of Northwest Austin. Even parts of the parking lot will have trees in the middle adding to the hill country setting. A man-made mall set in a natural setting the Arboretum features stores such as, Barnes & Noble bookstore, Gap, Express, Pottery Barn, and Restoration Hardware. The Arboretum draws in customers with its superb access to two of the major arteries in Austin, 183 and Mopac Expressway. Across 183, there is Costco Wholesale, Sam's Club, Best Buy, The Container Store, Babies R Us, and Target. There is also a Dave & Buster's!

The Arboretum also features fantastic restaurants including Austin's only Cheesecake Factory, Serrano's Cafe, and Kenobi Sushi. Across the street, you have North By Northwest, Iron Cactus, Panera Bread, and Terra Burger. If eating out isn't your thing, Whole Foods Market is also in the Arboretum area. The Domain is also a short drive away and features high-end stores and delicious restaurants. 

Arboretum is an entrance to the Austin hill country from the Northwest. As you travel down the scenic Capital of Texas Hwy., you will see homes built into the cliffside and amazing panoramic views. If homes aren't what you are looking for and would like something requiring a little less maintenance, there are several Arboretum condos for sale in Northwest Austin as well.

The list of what Northwest Austin and the Arboretum area have to offer is never-ending: shopping, movie theatres, dining, affordable and high-end luxury living, and tons of entertainment.
