South of Lady Bird Lake is where the slogan "Keep Austin Weird" generates it's steam. The pride of community resident's is evident at every turn and Barton Hills is no exception. Located just south of Zilker Park, east of Mopac, Barton Hills features mostly one-story ranch homes, but also has many two stories. Barton Springs Pool is a natural spring that has been blocked off to form a pool with a year-round average temperature of 68 degrees. It is very popular especially in the hot summer months.
After all the excitement in Zilker Park, head on over to Barton Creek Square Mall, a mere five minute drive away. Barton Creek Square Mall has more than 180 specialty retailers and its anchor stores are Dillard's, Macy's, JCPenney, Nordstrom and Sears. The mall has sit-down restaurants, a full food court, a movie theater, and The Day Spa and Salon at Barton Creek.
