Forest Oaks is a family friendly neighborhood located near Brushy Creek Road and 183A tollway in Cedar Park. Set in the hill country, Forest Oaks is in excellent position to have access to everything. The tollway gives you access to 183 and can take you to Mopac to downtown or straight to the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport. You can also hop on 45 tollway to head east to Round Rock or 620 to Lake Travis! Forest Oaks has excellent shopping and dining in the area, but is also in the outstanding Leander Independent School District.
The majority of the desirability of Forest Oaks is that it is mere minutes from shopping and dining. Drive 5 minutes and you are on 1431 in the 1890 Ranch Shopping Center! This rapidly growing shopping area features 575,000 sqft. of stores including Super Target, Cinemark Movie Theater, Gold's Gym, Officemax, Plato's Closet, and more! There are also many eateries at 1890 Ranch including Buffalo Wild Wings, Which Wich, Firehouse Subs, and Einstein Bagels.
Just 10 minutes away from Forest Oaks is Lakeline Mall, which is surrounded by more shopping centers providing a plethora of retail stores. Lakeline Mall's anchor stores include Dillard's, JCPenney, Macy's and Sears. In addition,more than 150 specialty stores, a 9-screen movie theater, sit-down restaurants and a full food court. Other shopping located adjacent to Lakeline Mall includes Best Buy, Rooms To Go, TJMaxx, and Toys R Us. There are also many restaurants in the area for a bite to eat.
Within Forest Oaks, there are two differing sections in types of houses. One side is a D.R. Horton-built community where the homes have white picket fences and detached garages. It's a very cute looking community that has a niche appeal and a lower price range. The two sections of Forest Oaks are separated by Park Street. The other section of Forest Oaks is the more traditional homes comprised of brick and stone exteriors. These homes are also built in more of the rolling hill terrain giving many great views. Both sides of Forest Oaks have large mature trees and are full of children playing and neighbors conversing.
There are two amenity centers in Forest Oaks. The one for the D.R. Horton side is located at Park Street and Lynnwood Trail. It features a community center, a pool, water slide, splash park, playground, and picnic tables. The other side features a junior Olympic swimming pool, children's pool, changing rooms, basketball court, playground, and picnic tables. There is also Forest Oaks Park, which has hike and bike trails along the greenbelt that weaves through the community.
Forest Oaks homes for sale in Cedar Park range in price from about $150,000 to $350,000. The average price of homes in Forest Oaks is about $220,000 and the median price is about $215,000. The average size of homes in the community is just over 2,400 sqft. Homes were built starting in 1995 and are still being built today by Buffington Homes and Grand Haven Homes.
