Northwest Austin is growing more in popularity everyday. This is due most in part to the incredible shopping and familiarity of the stores. Northwest Austin has one of only two Costco Warehouses (the other is way down in South Austin) in the Austin metro area. There are also several shopping centers including Arboretum, Gateway, Arbor Walk, and The Domain.

The Domain is the dynamo of the bunch. The development is still under construction, but Phase I and II have already been completed. When The Domain is completed it will feature nearly EIGHT MILLION square feet of mixed-use space. The Domain is planned as a urban Austin lifestyle and a sort of mini-town. They have high-end apartments, restaurants, a hotel, movie theatre, and luxury retail stores including Louis Vuitton, Burberry, Tiffany & Co., Diesel, and Austin's only Neiman Marcus. The city even has plans for Austin's light rail train, the Austin Metro Rail,  to travel through the shopping center to improve access. Also in the plans is a Whole Foods Market grocery store, so resident's really will have it all right next door!

Living in Northwest Austin is not only great because of the shopping, but because of the access to the rest of the city. Highway 183, Mo-pac, and Capital of Texas Highway (360) are all connected in Northwest Austin. So traveling downtown, north, west, east, or south is simple!

Northwest Austin real estate also has great parks to walk your dog, hike, or bike. Bull Creek Park is one of my personal favorites because of the awesome scenery. Located at Lakewood Dr. and North Capital of Texas Highway, it has a waterfall and great trails along Bull Creek or up the mountain-side. The park is also extremely dog friendly and great for family photos!

Northwest Austin real estate for sale generally range in price from $140,000 to around $1 million with the median home price for the area around $330,000. Although there are a couple new home communities for Northwest Austin real estate, the year built of most of the homes is from the early 70s to late 90s.
