Pflugerville's annual German heritage inspired the popular Deutschen Pfest! Thirty-five years and going strong, the festival is Pflugerville's invitation to come out and experience some of the community's heritage. The annual festival features live music, carnival rides, dancing, two parades, over 125 artisans and food and drink vendors, and the 5K Pfun run/walk. The festival goes three days and $4-5 a person. Children six and under are free. The festival usually takes place in May.
Pflugerville will soon have a water park! Blu Bambu Water Park is set to open it's gates in May 2011. The $16 million project will be located at Pecan Street and 130 tollway. The Blu Bambu Water Park in Pflugerville will span 26 acres and will also include a 14-acre park. Among the rides are a wave pool, a surfing wave, a lazy river, eight to ten large water slides, covered pavilions, young children pool areas, sand volleyball courts, and a stage for concerts. The City of Pflugerville is aiming to promote new development with the park, including hotels, restaurants, and other venues of entertainment. The Blu Bambu is expected to generate roughly $400,000 in sales tax revenue for the city in it's first year of operation.
