Located in north Central Austin just off of Mopac is the charming community of Rosedale. The community is a personal favorite of mine and the houses are extremely well preserved and many have been updated. With about 1,200 homes in the community and approximately 7,500 residents in all, Rosedale real estate provides its people with quaint living with tremendous access to downtown Austin. Although downtown is less than 10 minute drive, Rosedale features its own little collection of restaurants, retail shopping, and hospitals/health care centers.
The area of Rosedale is only a stones throw from Mount Bonnell, which provides tremendous views of the Austin cityscape. Mount Bonnell Park, which borders Lake Austin and only five minutes from Rosedale, is a five acre park which features some trails, picnic tables, and a long staircase leading to a breath-taking view of Austin's skyline. Another park in the area is Mayfield Park known for their wandering peacocks! The 22-acre park also features trails, meandering creeks, ponds, and is the chosen location for art shows, parties, and gardening projects.
Nearby Ramsey Park provides residents with a pool, tennis courts, picnic areas, and playgrounds. University of Texas students also enjoy Rosedale for it's close proximity to the campus.
