Travis Heights is a beautiful community surrounding Stacy Park and Wading Pool and is a historic district of Austin. The area is full of some wonderful views and scenic properties with a fantastic location and proximity to Downtown Austin. The area is attractive to many young families, professionals, and artists. Bordered by Riverside Dr. and Town Lake to the north, Oltorf Street to the south, I35 to the east and Congress Avenue to the west, Travis Heights is right in the middle of the action, but is still quiet and private enough to get some sleep at night.

Travis Heights is in excellent position to take advantage of the many festivals, events, recreation, and nightlife of Downtown Austin. You can walk to where the action is. You can walk to the shopping at the SoCo Shopping District, walk to Congress Avenue bridge over Town Lake to participate in the annual Mighty Texas Dog Walk, or even walk over to Downtown and party it up on 5th and 6th Street. The list of advantages to living in a neighborhood as close as Travis Heights is endless.

If you'd like to stay close to home and have some fun, just walk to Stacy Park right inside of Travis Heights. A spacious 23 acres, Stacy Park was created in 1929 and has baseball fields, basketball court, tennis court, volleyball court, picnic tables, barbeque pits, cement/cinder trails, and swimming pools! The Big Stacy Pool is spring-fed and is located on the south end of the park. The Little Stacy Park Pool is located at the northern end and is a wading pool. The park wraps around Travis Heights Elementary, which is also in Travis Heights

Travis Heights community features many cottage-style homes and bungalows, but there are also several two-story homes. It's hard to put an age bracket around Travis Heights homes because residential construction started in the mid-1910s and has continued into the 2000s as some have torn down the run-down homes in exchange for fresh construction. Many homes in Travis Heights have been updated or remodeled providing owners with the built-to-last craftsmanship of the past with more contemporary design features on the interior.
